Making Shitty Music Sound Even Worse . . . Since 2006!

Our 4th/5th shows:

OUR THIRD SHOW GOES DOWN AT ELM STREET BAR (DEEP ELLUM)
The show was taped by our "official" cameraman: Bug. He also took some pictures, so Fuberto will see how those turn out. Video/audio to follow.

The only video we've got so far:

OUR SECOND SHOW GOES DOWN AT EMO'S LOUNGE (AUSTIN)
We lived through our Austin gig. Crazy loud! We've got pictures thanks to Gwen/Mary! If it wasn't for the projection screen, you'd see the giant Emo's sign.

OUR FIRST SHOW GOES DOWN AT SAN FRANCISCO ROSE (LOWER GREENVILLE)
Quite the eye opening experience for me. I've never played live before. A lot of the comments I got were, I never look up! ;) Well, thanks to Ringo/Mary, we've got pictures!

We can also be found on MySpace . . . of course.

Butthole Surfers
Everyone's heard of them. Everyone's covered a song or two, but noone . . . noone has done a full on tribute band to Butthole Surfers. Or so we think!

So the story goes like this . . .

In 2001, BHS finally got wise & actually updated their website after near five years of dormancy. One of the biggest features they added was a message board/forum in late FEB. It was a magical time of gum drop rainbows, chocolate rivers, & flagrant harmony. All new members were welcomed with open arms. Finally, there was a place where all demented fans of BHS could hang out. BHS Drummer King & BHS Guitarist Paul hung out with all the fans, posting regularly, giving updates, and telling stories.

All this preceded their release of "Weird Revolution". With BHS members on the forum, getting to know fans by name, they invited all fans to the shows of their 2001 WR tour. So, the forum turned into a place to organize forumite meetings/gatherings for concerts & road trips to/from the shows.

It was during this time when two Dallas fans decided to drive down to Houston for BHS's first show in Texas in five years. Those two fans were: LAYGO & DiscoTex. They had made arrangements to meet two other fans driving in from San Antonio. One of the San Antonio fans turns out to be bucKy. A good time was had by all at the show, and there was much rejoicing. "Yaaaaay!"

Those three form the foundation of this super-fan tribute band.

Ruthless Fuberto
Fast forward to NOV 2006. It's forum like v4.2. It's been almost another five years since BHS has played. These same three super-fans are still hanging out the forum. Chit chat starts, ideas dropped, and suddenly, all three realize at around the same time, they have the same combination of core members as BHS does: Vocals/Guitar/Drums.

Hey, you got peanut butter in my chocolate!

Hey, you got chocolate on my peanut butter!

The band is formed, noise making is made. A bassist is needed. Enter Franchot. Practice is done and before we've got a solid month of practices, we're invited by another super-fan, Hallucinator, to play a live gig. Hallucinator would undoubtedly be a member of this band, should he live in Dallas, is booking shows & tentatively schedules us to play! Yikes.

Name?
Well, pretty simple, no one could come up with a name we all liked. Several names were tossed around from song titles (Sweat Loaf/Lonesome Bulldogs/etc), to lyrical references (Avalanches/etc/etc/ad nauseum). I randomly started messing with anagrams for Butthole Surfers and in a moment of sobriety clarity, a star was born: Ruthless Fuberto

We intend to play BHS songs live for fun. There is no goal other than having fun. So, if you like fun, sun, and Surfers . . . music, JOIN US!

June 2007
Unfortunately, bucKy has a lot going on in his life & respectfully and eventually bowed out. Luckily, we stumbled upon an old cohort of DiscoTex's named RawBeef! They worked together about 15 years ago where DiscoTex sat in on vocals in RawBeef's old band: Copro Lingus!

July 2007
Unforunately, Franchot decided to pursue another tribute band. He leaves Fuberto also on good terms.

August 2007
We've acquired a new bassist in Dickhead. Yes, you can call him that to his face. He'd probably be MORE pissed if you called him his real name! Also, 8/5 marks the RETURN OF BUCKY! He will be in addition to RawBeef. That's right: DUAL DRUMMERS! That also means 5 BHS tattoos in a 5 member band!
